Specialization: English as a Second Language
Karen Allen has an M.A in TESOL from West Virginia University. She started teaching ESL in the Intensive English Program in 1994. She has taught many courses in the IEP, such as Grammar, Reading, Writing, Communication Skills, Vocabulary, Pronunciation, and American Culture and also teaches ITA fluency: an ESL credit class in advanced English pronunciation at WVU. She is also the administrator of the SPEAK test and administers the Homestay Program for IEP students who want to live with an American family.
